Popular film artiste and Talli Telangana party president Vijayashanti criticized that the organizers of Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Telugu Cinema Industry, had failed to give preference to the artistes from Telangana origin.

She says, 'The organizers had ignored the senior artistes and no awards were announced to the senior artistes like NTR , SV Ranga Rao or Savitri. They should have announced some awards in their memory. In fact, the organizers had not organized the programme in a systematic manner.

She says, 'There are several senior artistes. Senior artiste TL Kanta Rao, who belonged to Telangana region, failed to get any kind of award.' When asked for her comments on the differences that had erupted during the valedictory, she says, 'In a democracy, every individual had a right to express their views.'
