The yesteryear actor and now an aspiring politician, Vijayashanthi has been making news of late with her dramatic public appearances.

Vijayashanthi made a big bang when she announced that she was taking up the cause of separate Telangana. She was supposed to work with the TRS but she antagonized KCR and burnt her boats with his party completely. She later made some noises to the effect that she would work with Aley Narendra, but nothing much came out of it either.

Vijayashanthi then started her own party strangely named as 'Talli Telangana Party. She made a big show but even that too has now petered out.

All that Vijayashanthi has been doing for the past two years is to make an appearance with 'Bonalu' on her head during the annual Mahankali Jatara in the twin cities.

The leaders of many political parties are now viewing her with a great deal of suspicion. She is making a mockery of herself with some loud statements and acts. Her appearance at the Niloufer hospital some time back with a dead baby in her arms was found to be in a very bad taste and everyone dismissed it as a ploy to garner some cheap publicity over the unfortunate deaths of babies.

Vijayashanthi has now once again come to hog the media limelight yesterday when she entered into a verbal duel with the TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu.

Now, no party is ready to touch Vijayashanthi with a barge pole. But some people close to her are floating rumors that parties like the Congress are wooing her.

She is even said to be toying with the idea of joining Chiranjeevi's party as and when he starts it.

But going by her track record, Vijayashanthi could be more of a liability than an asset to whichever party she joins. Her loud mouth and her penchant for cheap publicity have already eroded her credibility considerably.

So it would be highly unlikely that either the congress or Chiranjeevi would want to utilize her services in any way.
