An actor of Vijay's stature brings in with him a lot of expectation, a lot of speculation on his next venture and a lot of enthusiasm with every film. All the more reason why he takes so much care in choosing his scripts. Vijay is in the process of listening to many stories from leading directors in the industry, and the story that appealed to him most was by director Vishnuvardhan, who recently directed the successful Pattiyal.

But since Vijay is currently busy discussing for Pokiri with Prabhu Deva , Vishnuvardhan checked with Vijay if he could direct the approved story in Telugu with Mahesh Babu , who is one of the reigning stars of Tollywood.

Vijay was more than happy to oblige as, in a way, it safeguards his interests also. If the film clicks in Telugu, then it can be remade in Tamil. If not, it needn't be made at all. A safe bet for Vijay we think and one that works for the actor and the filmmaker as well.

Coming back to Vishnuvardhan's film, it is said that Mahesh Babu and the director are very good friends and were actually college mates. Once Mahesh Babu finishes his present commitments, he will begin work on this film with Vishnuvardhan.
