Vidya Balan, having shed several kilos recently, doesn’t have qualms being bolder on screen, says Preety Acharya
We have seen Vidya Balan in bold scenes before. The mushy love making scene in ‘Parineeta’ being a case in point. The actor says doing even bolder scenes is not an issue with her if the script demands her to.
Vidya says, “I don’t have any problem in doing bold scenes….if the script is convincing enough I don’t have any issues with it”.
Vidya , fresh from the success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’, is donning a sexier look these days after having shed several kilos recently.
Even though the tabloids have spent reams of newsprint on a possible liaison between her and the jilted lover-turnedbachelor Shahid Kapoor, she prefers to stick by the usual ‘good friend’ and ‘just a co-star’ tagline for Shahid.
She says, “I am lucky to have a costar like Shahid. Work becomes a pleasure if you enjoy a comfort level with your co-star. He doesn’t discuss his personal problems with me”.
Talking about her so called romantic associations with her co-stars she chides, “Just because I am single, the media takes advantage of it.” One of the qualities that celebrities must acquire is becoming thick skinned. Vidya says that she is learning to turn a blind eye to rumours and speculations that run wild. “Initially I use to take such gossip negatively. But now I have become a better sport. I do realise that these are traits of the profession and have to learn to live with them,” she remarks.
When she talks about SRK, the spark in her eyes are clear as she says, “I am a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan. I have done two small appearances with him in ‘Heyy Babyy’ and in the song of ‘Om Shanti Om’. But now I want to do a full romantic film with him”.
Bollywood is a lonely place for Vidya who does not have many friends in the industry. She says, “I don’t have too many friends in Bollywood and I have a professional relationship with everybody. All my good friends are school and college friends”.
