Vidya said that while she was sure she could take on sexy roles as well, she wanted to prove her versatility as an actress.

"But there is a lot between hot-and-sexy and simple, which I also want to explore," she said.

Balan added that she likes doing her own research while preparing for a film like she dropped in to a couple of radio stations for an upcoming movie Lage Raho Munnabhai.

"I play a radio jockey. I went to a few radio stations to get the feel of what it is like to be an RJ," she said.
