Veteran actor Vijayan suffered a massive cardiac arrest on Saturday morning. His breathed his last at a private hospital in Chennai the same morning. Vijayan made his debut in the film 'Niram Maaradha Pookkal' directed by Bharathiraja.

One of his best was director Mahendran's 'Uthiri Pookal' where he donned negative role. Later, he went onto to play negative role in 'Manvaasanai' directed by Bharathiraja and his performance was well appreciated by critics.

Some of his latest films were 'Ramana', 7G Rainbow Colony, '5 Star'.
