Two men have been arrested from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh in connection with the acid attack here on two college students, one of them sister of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, police said on Saturday.

Dehra Dun SSP Sanjay Gunjyal said the two accused Avinash alias Chhotu and Prem Singh arrested on Friday night are being brought here for further interrogation.

The two are alleged to have thrown acid on Kangana's sister Rangoli and her roommate Vijaya Chublani on October 5.

While Rangoli received serious burn injuries, Vijaya suffered minor burns.

Since both women belong to Mandi, police teams were deputed in Mandi and Una areas of Himachal Pradesh in search of the attackers.
