Devotees in the state would soon receive saplings as prasadam. The move to distribute saplings as prasadam at prominent temples has been taken to promote awareness about the importance of greenery ad the conservation of trees.

The endowments commissioner said that devotees would be encouraged to plant the saplings at a place of their convenience. The TTD already follows the practice of giving ‘ Vishnu Tulasi’ sapling as bahumanam as part of the Kalyanothsavam ritual to the gruhasthas.
