Atleast half a dozen films like Suresh Gopi's Bullet are ready for release, but there are hardly any takers. By the deadline date, a total of 113 films were registered thus defeating the very purpose of the ban. Even if the council is very particular to impose the ban, it will take at least two years as the films, numbering around 120, that were already registered with it will have to be released. At the same time, some producers were ready to defy the ban and were ready to face the consequences by releasing the dubbing films. Here is a strange but interesting fact; Megastar Chiranjevi and Darsakarathna Dasari Narayana Rao have 148 films each to their credit. While Chiranjeevi has acted in 148 films so far, Dasari has directed a similar number of films so far. But Dasari is sure to overtake Chiraneevi soon. The reason is obvious. Dasari has been dropped from the union cabinet recently and he is now ‘Out’ of politics by his own admission. So he has all the time in the world to make films once again. On the other hand, Chiranjeevi is toying with the idea of launching his own political party. So he will soon be ‘In’ politics. As such, he may not get the time to act in films for quit some time. KCR blasted Chiranjeevi in his usual language and said that there is no need at all for people of Telangana to watch his films. KCR literally called for a ban of Chiranjeevi’s films as well those of Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun. Many big films are scheduled for release during this time. As it is harvest time, the people across the state throng to the theatres to watch movies. This year about six films were slated for release. But now three films stand postponed. He said that the film industry was like his mother and he had been in the industry for over three decades. Chiranjeevi however said that acting is in his blood and will remain so till his death. He will act in films now and then. He will not act in regular commercial cinema but only in meaningful, socially responsible and educative films. She is now on the lookout to star opposite some of the young heroes. &n more TN-government-says-no-to-other-languages ![]() The Tamil Nadu government every year gives out subsidies to Tamil films that are made on a low budget. This year, a committee headed by Pon Baskaran, had recommended 45 and 49 films, of which the government had selected 34 and 36 films, for the years 2005 and 2006 respectively. Each of these 70 films will get Rs. 7 lakhs. In an announcement made yesterday, the government clarified that this time films that have titles other than Tamil have been included in the subsidy list because the more I-came-into-films-accidentally-–-Kaajal ![]() Kaajal says that her entry into films was accidental. She never dreamt of acting in films. She is a trained journalist and was working with a cosmetics company before entering films.
