The victorious T20 team clearly stole the thunder from Bollywood celebs at a party recently. No one even seemed to notice the stars. However, we caught them making quick exits

After having received a historic welcome, the Men in Blue along with the international tennis players, who are in the city for The Mumbai Open, retired at a swish nightclub in South Mumbai on Wednesday evening. Soon thereafter, came our Bolly brigade comprising Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Rahul Bose and Neha Dhupia to hobnob with the cricketers and tennis players at the party thrown by Venky's. Amrita Arora her beau Usman Afzal, sister Malaika and Arbaaz Khan, who were attending another event at a nearby nightspot showed up later to congratulate the boys.

However, our cricketers led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni were not really in a mood to have casual conversations with our filmi folks. Seeing that they were not getting any bhav at the party, the Bollywood brigade, made a beeline for the exit much sooner than expected.

Yuvraj Singh was the only one who obliged shutterbugs by posing with the actors present at the venue. However, the rest of the cricketers stuck to their own group and barely exchanged greetings with our Bollywood janta. Even the nightclub staff was more keen on looking after the T20 team and requesting the cricketers, rather than the stars, for photographs and autographs alike.

The moment of truth came when Saif Ali Khan, looking dapper in a black tuxedo, walked out in 30 minutes flat. An eyewitness informs, "The cricketers stole the thunder. Throughout the evening everyone was showering praises on the cricketers and all eyes were on this bunch of young boys who have made us proud. The actors were almost ignored and that's when they decided to head home."

It wasn't an arduous task to parade Bolly celebs at the soiree, as Mahesh Bhupathi's company (who are handling the tennis tournament) invited their celebrity clients. Unfortunately, most of them preferred to make an early exit after realising that it was a glorious moment for the cricketers, not them.

Another source informs, "The film stars walked in with style only to realise that all attention was on the cricketers. After Saif, everyone left quietly one after the other."

When quizzed about it, Bunty Sachdev from Mahesh Bhupathi's company said, "No quick exits last night. We all had an absolute and well-deserved blast spearheaded than my brother Yuvraj Singh."
