Dia Mirza says she has done enough of the girl-next-door roles and is now looking to ‘challenge herself with diverse characters’. And the first step to realise her goal, she says, is Sanjay Gupta’s Acid Factory where she plays a sultry, psychotic gangster.
“I am bored playing the girl-next-door in so many films,” she says. Sanjay Gupta’s offer sounded ‘ideal’ to Dia, who immediately jumped at it. “I want to challenge myself as an actor and when Sanjay Gupta told me about Acid Factory and my role — I instantly agreed to play Deadly Max, my character's name in the film,” the actor added.
Elaborating on her role, she adds, “I play this psychotic woman, who has no remorse and feels no pain after destroying someone. I have a very glamourised look in the film. I am someone who does not sit down and feel bad after doing something evil. There is no feeling of guilt in my character.”
Dia, who has acted in around 30 films so far, is very excited about her look in the film. “My look has been designed by Shantanu and Nikhil and they have done a great job. The get-up is very hot and it is something totally different for me. I have never got this kind of look,” she quips.
The svelte actress will also do some ‘extreme action sequences’ in the film too.
“I do quite a lot of action sequences and stunts in the film. It is cool to challenge oneself and the role also
demands me to push my body to its limit,” she says.
Dia is paired opposite six men — Aftab Shivdasani,
Irfaan Khan, Danny Denzongpa, Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan and Manoj Bajpai — and the girl feels it will be lot of fun with all the boys around her during the shooting.
“I’m the centre of attraction,” she laughs, adding, “I think it’s going to be lot of fun with six boys around.”
And is the lady doing an item number in the film too? “Oh yes, there an item number too. Just wait for the film to be complete.”
