The musical success of Om Shanti Om has prompted Shah Rukh Khan to team up with its composers, Vishal-Shekhar, once again. And this time it’s to score the anthem for the Khan’s Kolkatan IPL team, Knight Riders.

“But the anthem is entirely Shah Rukh’s baby. He’s the one who came up with the idea and some really fantastic ones at that. It’s really easy working with him because Shah Rukh’s so clear about what he wants,” says Vishal Dadlani. The anthem has generated a lot of buzz even before it has gone on air. And Vishal agrees, “it’s really anthemic and can make entire stadiums get up and sing.”

“It’s also hip, stylish and has a very international feel to it,” he says, adding that it was Shah Rukh who urged them to incorporate the line — Korbo (will do), Lorbo (will fight) and Jeebo (will win) — into the song. “SRK really likes that phrase and felt it reflected the philosophy of the team very well. So Sujoy Ghosh translated the lyrics from English into Bengali and we made it the hook of the song,” adds Vishal

The song has been composed in Hindi, English and Bengali and Vishal says they chose to do it that way, “because it forms the crux of the Kolkatan team — the Bengali culture is so cosmopolitan and the song highlights that spirit.” The anthem will soon be converted into a video, which will be choreographed by Ganesh Hegde.
