Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi look set for more Spider-Man films
Director Sam Raimi and actor Tobey Maguire are on the verge of signing on for a further two sequels of the Spider-Man franchise.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, bosses at Sony's Columbia Pictures are close to sealing a deal with the pair to make the fourth and fifth installments.
The publication claims Columbia executives will make Raimi shoot the films back-to-back to save on costs. Producers Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad are set to produce the feature films, hoping for a May 2011 release for Spider-Man 4.
Zodiac screenwriter Jamie Vanderbilt has been brought onboard to pen the script. Maguire has previously vowed only to return as Spider-Man if Raimi was at the helm.
