The Telugu film industry is planning to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Telugu cinema to mark the completion of 75 years. A programme was chalked out to celebrate the function for three days from January 26 to 28, 2007.

Dr D Ramanaidu says, 'The programme was christened as 'Amma Puttina Roju' (Mom's birthday) because the film industry is like a mother to thousands of families as they were eking out a living on it. Almost all the departments in the film industry are joining hands to organize the event on a grand scale. We are planning to hold an exhibition of photographs regarding the Telugu cinema, which are very rare.'

Nagababu says, 'We are planning to organize in an excellent manner and like never before. The MAA would extend its whole hearted support to the committee in organizing the event on a grand scale.' Srikanth, Tarakarathan, Paruchuri brothers, Mallikarjuna Rao, Benarjee, Hema and Sivaparvathi attended the programme.
