Hero Tarakarahna who was in the forefront in advocating Balakrishna as the next chief minister has now changed his tune. Tarakarathna's comments made a big splash in the papers and came as a shock to the rank and file of the TDP.

Chandra Babu was deeply embarrassed over the repeated statements of Tarakarathna claiming that Balayyya would be the next chief minister. Babu seems to have finally managed to prevail upon Balayya and Harikrishna to make Tarak retract his statement.

Tarak in an announcement to the media said that his comments were misreported. What he said was that Balayya would become the chief minister some time in the future. As of now, it is only Babu who is the chief ministerial candidate of the TDP
