Enough is enough. Actress Tanushree Dutta says she can’t keep silent to the harassment from the director of her upcoming film.
The actress alleges that she went through a harrowing time while working with director Shona Urvashi in her film ‘Saas Bahu Aur Sensex’. Things boiled to such an extent that Tanushree left the film’s shooting in Pune mid-way and came back to Mumbai.
Here’s the dope on the spat.
Tanushree was captivated by the film’s interesting story and readily agreed to work in ‘Saas Bahu Aur Sensex’. The film was shot in Pune and the whole family of director Shona Urvashi worked together in different departments on the sets.
However, Tanushree kept aloof and refrained from joining Urvashi’s family for parties after the shoots.
Soon, friction began to develop between the director and the actress. It is alleged that Urvashi even told the film’s unit that Tanushree was on drugs, that she was another Parveen Babi in the making.
The tension between Urvashi and Tanushree boiled to the surface on a particular day of shoot in February, when the director picked on Tanushree time and again. Tanushree says she was laughed at, taunted and jeered at by Urvashi and her team. Worse, the air-conditioning in Tanushree’s vanity van was turned off.
The next day, Tanushree packed her bags and flew back to Mumbai. The film’s producers Warner Bros. tried to broker peace between Tanu and Urvashi. Even though the two women continued to be at loggerheads, they agreed to complete the film.
Tanushree describes her experience of working in the film as “nightmarish”.
