The Telugu Desam Party seems to be going through a August crisis. The party is facing the prospect of mass desertions from its ranks. Most of the desertions are likely to be to the soon to be launched political party of megastar Chiranjeevi

The senior TDP leader and former speaker Yanamala Ramakrishnadu is reported to have met Allu Aravind secretly recently. The news raised alarm bells in the party. Babu is now on a damage control exercise and is said to be cajoling some disgruntled elements and trying to convince them from thinking of quitting the party. Former MLA from Eluru, Ambika Krishna is salted to be ready to quit the TDP and join the proposed Chiranjeevi party.
