The state cabinet met today and decided to consider including the Kapus in the backward castes list. Chiranjeevi is from the Kapu community and the move is seen as a sop by the government to blunt his entry to some extent. The party chief Chiranjeevi along with core committee members is now giving finishing touches to the list. more TRS-first-list  The TRS has announced the list of 14 candidates in its first list. In a list on the 100 most beautiful women today published by the current Harpers and Queen magazine, the former Miss World has been placed ninth. With the congress party announcing its list of candidates, those who have not been re-nominated and other aspirants who missed the bus will look at other parties. The PRP which claimed that it would announce its list ahead of others did not do so. The party was supposed to come out with its list on March 10. The reason why the announcement was put off was that the PRP does not have enough strong candidates in more than 200 constit more CEC-Chawla-is-lucky!-  The CEC Navin Chawla almost missed out on his vote. When he went to vote at a polling booth in Delhi, the staff there did not find his name in the voters list. A frantic staff then made enquiries and finally found that his name was listed in another list. Navin Chawla had moved house recently and so his name appeared in another list. Navin Chawla finally managed to cast his vote in booth number 86 at Nirman Bhavan. more |
