The simmering differences in the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) finally resulted in the removal of Kakarala Prabhakar Choudhary as the President of TANA. The governing board met on Thursday and voted to remove Prabahakar Choudhary as president. While 20 members voted against Choudhary only five members voted in his favour.
The Executive vice president of TANA Komati Jayaram has been elevated to the post of President. The main differences in TANA arose after Choudhary wanted to hold the 2009 conference in Florida, those opposing him wanted to hold the conference in Chicago. The bitter battle also resulted in filing of court cases against one another.
