A police team is going to Mumbai to question director Ram Gopal Verma in connection with a case of cheating and breach of trust filed against him by music company T-Series.
The case was lodged by Super Cassettes Industries Ltd, the owner of the T-Series label, at Sector 20 police station last on March 18, Additional Superintendent of Police J Ravinder said on Monday night.
He said, T-Series claimed Verma had entered into a contract with the company for music rights for 14 of his forthcoming films in June 2006.
Since then Darwaja Band Rakho, Nishabd , Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag and Shiva were released as per the contract but the company claimed it has made payments for the ones made as also advance payments for the forthcoming films.
Ravinder said a cheating and criminal breach of trust case had been registered and "unless we get the Verma's version, investigations can not proceed further".
Verma is reported to have filed a cheating and forgery case against T-Series at Versova police station, Mumbai in which he alleged that documents shown by the company were forged and they had duped him of over Rs 46 lakh.
T-Series, in a statement issued on Monday, said it had on January 23 moved the district court, which issued notice and summons to RGV Film Factory Private Limited and RGV Films Private Limited.
