The government is likely to seize the properties of the prime accused in the DEEPEP scam Sarasa Devi and Subrahmanyam. The government is awaiting the clearance from the court to auction the properties of both the accused. An amount to the tune of 14.95 crore has been siphoned off from the money meant for the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan by the education department.

Sarasa Devi and YSR’s man Friday Sureedu are reported to be close friends as they both hail from the same place. Even though Subrahmanayam had reveled the name of Sureedu during the investigations, the government and concerned officials ate going out of their way to shield him. Even the minister has given a clean chit even after Subrahmanyam had admitted that he gave one crore to Sureedu at the chief minister’s camp office.
