Kalanidhi Maran-promoted media group Sun TV Network on Wednesday said it has launched an FM radio station at Vijayawada.
The radio station commenced operation under the brand 'S' FM through Kal Radio Ltd -- a subsidiary of Sun TV, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The station would air programmes for all age groups and can be heard at 93.5 MHz frequency at Vijayawada, it said.
With this, the total number of FM radio stations operating under the Sun TV Network goes up to 17, including those in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Madurai, Tuticorin, Lucknow, Bhopal, Puducherry, Kozhikode and Indore.
Sun TV Network holds licence for 45 FM radio stations across India and when all the remaining 28 stations become operational the company would become one of the largest radio broadcasters in the country, it added.
Earlier this month, the company launched its a radio station in Kozhikode being operated under the brand 'S' FM through Kal Radio Ltd and another station in Indore being operated through South Asia FM Ltd -- a subsidiary of Sun TV, the company added.
