The new international airport at Shamshabad is almost ready. The airport officials are beginning a trail run from February 12. A special flight belonging to the Kingfisher Airlines will take off from the Begumpet airport and will land at the international airport at Shamshabad.
Chief minister YS Rajashekar Reddy, ministers, MPs, MLAs, other VIPs and media personnel will fly in the special flight. The flight will carry 120 people and will take off from Begumpet at 8.00 a.m.
The new airport will be formally inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi on March 14. Regular operations will commence from the midnight of March 15.
