Simran is making a comeback to films with the upcoming Malayalam film, Heartbeats, by Vinoo Anand starring Indrajeet and Manikuttam in the lead roles. Simran plays the female lead and is named Thankam in this film. The campus-based movie has a script by Babu Janardhan. Hindi film actress Kajol will also be acting in the film.

The latest buzz is that she is also planning to produce a film in which she will play the lead role. Simran started her career with the Hindi movie Tere Mere Sapne, moved to the southern film industry and soon became one of the most popular actresses. She got married to her childhood friend Deepak in 2004 and gave birth to a boy in 2005. She took a long break from films after marriage. After the birth of her son, she came before the arclights endorsing products like baby powder, etc.
