 Simran did not exactly set the box office on fire in her second innings. All her films including 'John Appa Rao 40+, failed to make any impact at the box office. Simran also acted in a Malayalam film titled 'Heart Beats'. The film is being dubbed into Telugu now. The story is about four students pursuing their medicine. Simran joins them and their lives then take a new turn. The film has action, romance and sentiment. Indrajit is the hero and Visu Anand is the director.

The actor said that India was one of the largest country with a huge number of AIDS patients. The actor wants to raise awareness among the people about AIDS. He will tour the entire state to promote awareness about the dreaded disease. As Tirupathi is his home town, he has begun the campaign from here.
