Veteran yesteryear actor Shobhan Babu passed away at his home in Chennai this morning. He was 71. Shobhan Babu collapsed while doing yoga. He was rushed to the Apollo hospital where the doctors declared him as brought dead.
Shobhan Babu’s original name was Uppunoothala Chalapathi Rao. He was born at China Nandigama in Krishna district.
Shobhan Babu began his career with the film ‘Bhaktha Sabari’. He received five Nandi and four film fare awards in his over three decade illustrious career. The film industry was shocked to lean about his sudden death. Shobhan Babu is survived by his son and three daughters. His last film was Adavi Dora. After quitting films, he has been living with his family in Chennai.
