Shah Rukh Khan, owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, along with co-owners of the IPL Kolkata team, actor Juhi Chawla and her husband Jai Mehta met Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at Writers’ Building on Sunday.
“This was just a courtesy visit for me. I have been looking forward to this meeting for quite some time now. In fact, I am grateful to him that he found some time out for me on a Sunday. The CM is a thorough gentleman, and it was a wonderful experience spending some time with him and talking to him,” said Khan.
While the actor presented the CM with a gold-plated helmet of Kolkata Knight Riders along with a copy of the autobiography of Jai Mehta’s grandfather, the chief minister gave them packets of Darjeeling tea.
According to the chief minister secretariat’s sources the two generally discussed about cricket and films. Shah Rukh also talked about the avenues of infrastructural development for cricket training. Also, the chief minister invited the actor to attend the Kolkata Film Festival that will take place in November.
