Though her film Naksha has long since wrapped up, Sameera Reddy continues to suffer from a hangover from all the bizarre stunts she did like jumping off cliffs and wading through rapids. But what gave her the biggest high was the fact that she was the only woman on the sets.
Sameera recalls, "I got a lot of attention from all the men since the only girl. There was this cute firang technician called Justin in New Zealand who was from the crew of Lord of the Rings. We had to shoot a sequence where the raft toppled over in the river and Sunny , Vivek and I were thrown into the icy cold water. Justin had a crush on me and for this sequence the moment I fell into the water and even before Sachin (the director) could say 'Cut' he ran towards me with a big blanket to keep me warm and rub my hands and feet. Poor Sunny and Vivek were wet and shivering but there was no blanket for them."
Shooting with Vivek and Sunny too turned out to be full of surprises. Sameera says, "My impression of Sunny was that he was reserved so I was really surprised when I saw him laughing and joking on the sets. He has a great sense of humour and had us in splits. While Vivek and I used to try and cut down on the calories, Sunny would stuff us with hot parathas full of ghee. It felt nice to gorge on the food especially in Manali where we were shooting in extreme cold."
"As for Vivek," Sameera adds, "He ragged me no end! When the cable trolleys creaked, he would say the cables were going to snap and we would roll down the cliff. I would scream and he'd have a hearty laugh."
Sameera admits that some of the stunts really scared her. She says, "There was a stunt when I had to jump down a 2000 ft high cliff. I am terrified of heights and the moment I looked down I felt faint. But I mustered up courage as I had signed the contract. However looking back I'm grateful I did it as I have over come my fear of heights now!" she says.
