Talking about the eclectic mix of films that his cine-bag boasts of, John says that he’s not averse to taking risks and experimenting.
Looking more relaxed than he ever has been in the past few months, John Abraham reflects the confidence and security of someone who has the world at his feet. “Well, you can say that. After all, soccer is an important part of my world and I’ve been indulging in a lot of football kicking of late. So yes, I had the world at my feet,” laughs the sexy hunk.

And as he flashes his dimpled smile that instantly makes women go weak in their knees, you are bound to give up looking for any shadows of pain that he might have endured when his relationship with longtime girlfriend Bipasha Basu was dragged through media muck. “We both knew the status of our relationship. It would be silly to go by what is being speculated about our lives,” he says.
But his going underground at the time only complicated matters. “Well, I was busy shooting in Pondicherry for Nagesh Kukkunoor’s Aashayein . Besides, I don’t think we owe an explanation to anyone,” he adds.
So, there is no trouble in paradise? “Well, just like any relationship, we do have our lovers’ tiffs for sure, but no trouble in paradise! It would need a really big and genuine reason to drive us two apart.”
Talking about the smokin’ and sizzling chemistry the two share even on screen, John prefers to give all credit to Bips. “She’s such a fantastic actor. She brings out the best in me.” And while John can’t stop praising the hot actor, he’s rather modest when it comes to talking about his sex appeal. “My God, don’t embarrass me,” he laughs and adds, “Well, it’s all thanks to my crazy genes.” Even as John’s on a high personally, professionally too he’s going great guns.
Talking about the eclectic mix of films that his cine-bag boasts of, John says that he’s not averse to taking risks and experimenting. “I am doing the kind of films I would love to be associated with even 30 years down the line. I am working with directors right from Anurag Kashyap to Vivek Agnihotri, from Karan Johar to Sriram Raghavan So far, so good.”
But along the way he seems to have rubbed many people the wrong way. Salman Khan being one of them. Ask him about it and he finally breaks his long-maintained dignified silence. “Well, if he doesn’t want to acknowledge me, that’s his call. Everyone is entitled to have their opinions. And besides I am not here to win Mr Congeniality title. I do my work sincerely and honestly. And that’s all that matters.”
