Sagar Alias Jackey - very few will forget this name and the film that stabilized Mohanlal as the superstar of Malayalam cinema. The film which ran to 150 days in many theatres was the biggest hits of the decade.
The film buffs from the new generation may get a feel of this superhero character which redefined Malluwood, if the plans for a sequel to the original get fulfilled.
The new film is planned in the title EE Irupatham Noottandu and will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor in the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas.
S.N. Swamy, who scripted the original, will also write for the sequel, but the major change in the credits will be in the name below the director card. The sequel will be directed by Shaji Kailas, instead of K. Madhu , who shot to fame with the original.
“It is a very interesting project. I had seen the original at least ten times in theatres and was thrilled with the performance and presentation. And now being selected to do a sequel, is indeed a luck for me”, says Shaji Kailas.
The film will be one of the first projects of Mohanlal in 2008.
