Self improvisation and reinvention of one's own abilities are the keys to a happy life, noted playback singer Asha Bhonsle said.
" One has to live life to its fullest and continuously work towards self improvising one's own abilities. Only then a human being can lead a long and happy life," Asha said on Wednesday at the inaugural edition of annual Silver Harmony Awards 2007, where 10 senior citizens were awarded for their exemplary contributions towards society.
"A stage comes when one starts feeling lonely, despite having children and grandchildren around. I too feel lonely sometimes. But I look towards reinventing myself by adding new styles to my singing. This keeps me focused and I keep moving in life," she said.
The awards have been instituted by NGO 'Harmony for Silvers Foundation', headed by Tina Ambani, the wife of ADAG Chairman Anil Ambani.
The ten award recipients included - Wipro chief Azim Premji (62), veteran actor A K Hangal (90), Ayesha Chelekkodan (87), Arvind Gupte (54), Ram Chander Sharma (87), Rehman Rahi (82), Deep Joshi (61), Ravinder Kumar (54, Shirish Nadkarni (57) and Chewang Norphel (72).
