Sahil Khan, who made his debut with N.Chandra's Excuse Me and Style, has now turned producer with his film Rama - The Saviour. The film stars Tanushree Dutta in the lead.
"I am playing Rama in the film. The film is set on an island amid forests and wild animals. It has been shot in Thailand. Tanushree's character is based along the lines of Lara Croft played by Angelina Jolie in The Tomb Raider series. She has performed a lot of stunts in the film. It is going to be a fun film. It will have state-of-theart special effects and animation. Tanushree is going to be the surprise package of the film. She has been trained by professional trainer Peter Hann for her stunts," says Sahil.
He adds, "I was always inspired by the character of Tarzan and films like George of the Jungle. No one was making films like that, so I decided to go ahead with this venture. I had a good script. The budget for the film is Rs 5 crore. I will be introducing WWF wrestler Khali in a small role." Tanushree is also singing a song for the film. "Tanushree is very fond of singing. When she was approached, she couldn't turn down the offer to sing," he says. So how was she chosen to sing? "We were looking for a different voice. Someone recommended Tanushree's name. We spoke to her and she loved the idea. She will be trained before we record the song," Sahil explains.
Kay Kay Menon will be singing with Tanushree. Music directors Siddarth-Suhas will score music for the song. The film is being directed by Haji Ali Abrar, who also happens to be legendary actress Kum Kum's son. "I was looking for a director who had the yearning to make a good film and Haji was keen on my film," he adds.
