Dileep-starrer Romeo will hit the theatres on December 21. Shot in Ottapalam and Shonur, Romeo , directed by Rajasenan, produced by Rafi-Mecartin, is scripted by Rafi-Mecartin and casts Cochin Haneefa, Bheeman Reghu, Riza Bava and Ashokan. Alex Paul helms the music and K.P. Nambiathiri cranks the camera. Vimala and Samvrutha Sunil play the female leads.

Romeo will have to compete with Prithviraj starrer Kangaroo, which also hits theatres this Christmas.

    Romeo-to-clash-with-Calcutta-News-



    Dileep did not have any releases this Ramzan and Diwali; his much-awaited, movie, Calcutta News, which was rescheduled several times, has finally been planned for release this Christmas where he shares screen space with Meera Jasmine. Calcutta News is directed by Blessy and produced by Thampi Antony.

    Director Rajasenan has roped in Vimala Raman as the female lead for his upcoming film Romeo starring Dileep in the lead role. This is the first time that Vimala Raman will be starring opposite Dileep, though she also appears in a pivotal role in the Dileep starrer Calcutta News.

    Dileep starrer Calcutta News has in the news even before its production started last summer. It was earlier thought that the movie may clash with Romeo, Dileep"s Christmas release. However, the movie further got delayed and is now slated for release on January 18.

    The first of the Christmas biggies Dileep's Romeo is releasing this Friday (Dec 14. This film is produced by the comedy director duo Rafi-Mecartin and directed by Rajasenan.

    The film was censored and got a clean "U" certificate and is said to be a rip-roaring comedy with Dileep and Sooraj Venjaranmoodu bringing the house down with their antics. The song Kilichundan Mavile… is already a chartbuster. It is Dileep's first film with Vimala.

    Leading comedy writers and director duo Rafi & Mecartin have turned producers with the Dileep film Romeo, directed by their mentor Rajasenan. The last film Rajasenan did with Rafi & Mecartin as writers was that comedy riot Anniyan Bava Chettan Bava, 12 years back! Now Rafi & Mecartin as independent producers are once again writing Rajasenan's script for Romeo, which going to be a comedy festival.     Allu Arjun is now turning into a ‘Romeo’ after playing ‘Desamuduru’. His new film with Bommarillu Bhaskar is progressing briskly. Sheela of ‘Hello Premisthara’ fame is the heroine. Dil Raju is the producer.
    Many titles like ‘Vaaradhi’ did the round initially. But the director felt that the titles were a bit old fashioned and did not reflect the image of Allu Arjun. So the title ‘Romeo’ is now in consideration. A tagline ‘Need Juliet’ is also likely to be used.

    Dileep-Busy-bee!



    After the lukewarm response to Dileep's July 4 at the Kerala box-office, the actor is a worried man. He has to reinvent himself, and do commercially viable films. There is nothing to worry about his career as he is committed to do a dozen films, and his Vinodayatra is one of the biggest hits of the year.

    The film would be a complete entertainer and Niranjan is being introduced as music director through this film.' Presenter of the film Vidyasagar says, 'We are releasing the film simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages through Darpan Communications on December 30.' Dialogues are by Gandhi, camera is by Amar, while screenplay and direction are by S Nivas.
