Ritiesh Deshmukh says he wasn’t embarrassed at all while doing his striptease act in ‘Heyy Babyy.
While world is aware about the fact that Akshay Kumar has indulged in striptease for ‘Heyy Babyy’, not many know that he has Fardeen Khan and Ritiesh Deshmukh too as his partners in crime. In fact Ritiesh Deshmukh is highly amused when he recollects doing the striptease for the camera, for an important sequence in the film.
“But did I have a choice”, laughs Ritiesh, “I was told by Sajid Khan, the film’s director, that he would be shooting it as a fun sequence which would cater to adults and kids alike. If you notice the song, it is funny rather than being sexy.”
Still, he must be hoping that his female fans do get turned on by his naughty act? “You must be joking”, he comments in his characteristic dead pan humor, “I am worried that they may rather be more turned off than on when they see me taking my shirt off. I can understand women getting excited with Akshay and Fardeen stripping on stage but me? Naah.”
Nonetheless, how comfortable was he shedding his inhibitions? “See, the choice was simple — either be embarrassed or just get on with the act and enjoy the moment. I opted for latter because the former would have only hampered the performance,” he jokes.
So the film is basically a laugh riot? “It is pretty humorous but let me add that there is a strong emotional quotient which flows in the narrative. The kid is the central protagonist and the three men in her life are required to take care of her. While this gives rise to funny situations since none of them have any experience whatsoever in parent-hood, they are also taught a few lessons in life as they get close to her.”
He adds with a wink, “What I have realized after this striptease is that even men are not being spared anymore in the industry. Who says that today only women are required to strip in the glamour world?”
