In the times when girls are shedding clothes to strike an easy fame, Ramya Nambeesan is comfortable with her girl-next-door image.
Ramya , who has done about half a dozen films in Malayalam cinema, made her Tamil debut with a non-glamourous role in ‘Raman Thediya Seethai’. Though the movie got Ramya critical appreciation for her performance, it also gave her the image of a plain Jane, which may not be easy to rid of.
But Ramya is not complaining.
In fact, the vivacious girl has signed her second movie in Tamil. Titled ‘ Aata Nayakan’, the film will have Ramya playing an outgoing, extrovert, chubby girl who supports her family. It’s yet another non-glamorous role, but Ramya is not worried. She believes that concepts are defined differently in the film industry than in real life.
“What they (industry folks) call glamour is what is called obscene in the common parlance,” Ramya is quoted by a news daily.
‘Aata Nayakan’ will have Ramya acting opposite Shakthi.
