The announcement of tax waiver may have lured our very own producers and directors. But it does not seem to have the same effect on Ramgopal Varma who has decided to produce step foot in Tamil. The ace director cum producer of Bollywood has made up his mind to stick with the title Darling for his upcoming production venture in Tamil.
It is rumored that he refused for a name change in Tamil for the sake of tax waiver. I decide the name my movie not others, he was quoted saying.
Earlier, producers of Something Something went through the same dilemma and were even stubborn for a name change for the sake of tax waiver. K.S. Ravikumar refused for the rechristening of his Godfather stating that the title symbolizes the essence of his movie. However, finally he had to give in and Godfather was released in the name of Varalaru.
Does the money factor in the name of tax waiver not woo Varma Sahib? After all, it is money honey – and it wouldn’t hurt if it were in the name of savings. Would it?
