We hear that director Ram Gopal Varma will soon be directing a film for good friend Ajay Devgan's former business manager and producer Kumar Mangat's production house. The script is not yet ready but the film will definitely star Ajay in it. If this news is to be believed, then it means that Varma has broken his known rule of not directing for an outsider, which he considered to be below his dignity.

According to sources, the frequent spats with technicians on the sets of Sholay, followed by strikes, has compelled the director to bend his own rules and agree to direct for another company. Mangat's film will start at the end of the year.Varma has already narrated a concept to Devgan and the script will be ready in no time. This collaboration is being seen in certain industry circles as a part of Ajay's design to form his own clique with filmmakers Vishal Bharadwaj, Anurag Kashyap and Anil Devgan. Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham are the only other actors who feature in Mangat's productions. But it's a bunch of guys who are comfortable working with each other, argue Devgan's friends, squashing rumors of him forming a clique.
