As was widely anticipated, Dr. Rajashekar and his wife Jeevitha finally took the plunge and joined the congress party this morning. The couple first met chief minster YS Rajashekar Reddy and later drove to the Gandhi Bhavan.
Rajashekar Reddy and Jeevitha have been enrolled as primary members of he party by the PCC chief d Srinivas. The AICC in charge for Andhra Pradesh, Veerappa Moily was also present on the occasion.
Jeevitha is expected to make a more proactive role in the congress party and there is also some talk that she may soon be rewarded with a top organizational post – president of the Mahila wing of the congress.
