Last year was quite a barren year for music composer AR Rahman where Hindi films are concerned as he had only one release in Mani Ratnam's Guru. But he more than makes up for it this year.
Rahman seems to be back with a vengeance this year. Topping the list this year is Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar , whose music was released earlier this week. And there is lots more to follow this year. There is the Ghajini remake, with Aamir Khan in the lead, which is set to follow. The film's title is yet to be announced. Then there is Rehman is coming together with Subhash Ghai for Yuvraj. The duo last worked together with fantastic results in Taal. Kisna had Ismail Drabar sharing the credits as well.
Gulzar will be penning the lyrics of this Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer. Aamir Khan's next production, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa, is a launch pad for his nephew Imraan Khan. The film will also mark the directorial debut of Abbas Tyrewala. Aamir and Rehman will be collaborating again after Lagaan, Mangal Pandey and Range De Basanti. Finally, there is Rakesh Mehra's Dilli 6, with its cast headed by Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor. After Rang De Basanti, one's expectations are even higher than ever. So in, this may as well be Rahman's year.
