The communists fought the elections to the assembly in alliance with the Congress. But later, differences cropped up and the two left parties are now going all out against the congress in the state.
Raghavulu clarified on Monday that there was no question of any alliance with the congress for the next elections. The decision is not at all surprising as the elections if any will be an outcome of the CPM withdrawing support to the congress government at the center over the nuclear deal issue.
Observers have long stated that Raghavulu was more inclined towards the TDP while the CPI leader Narayana has a soft corner for the Congress.
It however remains to be seen if the left parties will actually break ranks during the next elections, with CPM aligning with the TDP and the CPI with the Congress.
