Due to the delay in prints and the bad word-of-mouth Mahesh Babu's Sainikudu was a damp squib at Andhra box-office.
And last week, Ravi Teja's Khatarnak expected to open with 100 percent collections could only garner 60 to 70 percent openings in most areas.
The trade sees it as a miss as Ravi Teja is regarded as one of the mass heroes in Tollywood and all his films have got a good opening and his last release Vikramarkudu was a huge hit.
For first time in Ravi Teja's career, the film was released in about 30 screens in Hyderabad alone. The film tripped off on the first day itself. The colossal failure of Sainikudu and Khatarnak has sent alarm bells among the trade circles.
It is a clear indication that only content sells, not the 'hot combinations'.
Now producers, distributors and directors of forthcoming biggies like Rakhi , Annavaram , Desamuduru , Yogi and Maharadhi are under pressure. The buzz is that Puri Jagannadh is re-shooting his Desamuduru
