National award winner ‘Chiyaan’ Vickram is pitted opposite Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Maniratnam’s next film. Vickram’s long-held ambition to do a Maniratnam film will be realized through this film. Interestingly, Prithviraj, who started his career in Tamil films as a villain in K.V. Anand’s ‘Kanaa Kandein’, again returns to the role of a villain in this film.
Why would he like to play a ‘villain’ when he has films like ‘Mozhi’, ‘Vellithirai’, etc. in his kitty? A beaming Prithviraj says that acting in a Maniratnam film itself is a great achievement for any actor- no matter it’s a negative shade.
Luckier still, seems actress Priyamani , who’s been given an important role opposite Prithviraj. It’s a mere coincidence that some years ago, Priyamani made her debut in Malayalam movies opposite Prithiviraj.
