Jodhpur, March. 23 (PTI): Film star Salman Khan landed himself in yet another controversy when police intercepted his vehicle here this morning for over speeding and slapped a case against the driver.
A case was registered under the Motor Vehicles Act against the driver of the car in which the Bollywood star was travelling, Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Surendra Kumar Gupta told PTI.
The driving license of driver Kantilal, a resident of Kharda village in Rajasthan's Pali district, had been seized, he said.
The incident happened when Salman Khan was on his way to the court in connection with two appeals filed by him against his conviction for poaching black bucks in 1998.
Police intercepted the vehicle near the Circuit House Road for violating the speed limit, Gupta said.
Salman's black-coloured Scorpio was running at a speed of 61 km per hour against the permissible speed limit of not more than 40 km per hour in the area, he said.
