The government is making efforts to supply gas through pipelines to households soon. If things go according to plan, households across 23 municipalities in Andhra Pradesh would get piped gas from 2008.
In the first phase city gas distribution network would be laid in Kakinada, Rajamundry and Visakhapatnam. The gas pipeline network will cost upwards of Rs. 40,000 crore for covering the entire state. In the initial phase, it will cost the government close to Rs. 4,800 crore for laying the network.
