Amrita Rao is in on cloud nine these days. The reason is the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award that was recently conferred on her for the film, Vivaah, which she claims has given her a new impetus for work.

"The award has made me feel that I am truly a part of the industry. It is an indication that the industry has embraced me," she said. Amrita has a reason to feel so. According to her and rightly so, the awardees for the prestigious award are chosen with the endorsement of 36 associations in the industry.

"Besides it was a truly memorable moment to receive the award from Yash Chopra. In fact, Yash-ji was the first to see Vivaah and predict that the film would set a precedent at the box-office," she says. She also admits of having received hundred congratulatory messages but the one message that she has saved is from director Sooraj Barjatya, who was thrilled about her having won the award. "After my parents, he was the one who is really happy for my success," she says.

Also thanks to her unique and simplistic characterization in Vivaah, she admits to being wooed by some of the best banners in Bollywood. "Like all the other Rajshri actors, life has taken a 360 degree turn for me after Vivaah. I am being offered some of the best roles, which are totally different from what I have done so far," she enthuses.
