The Kamal Haasan magnum opus, Dasavatharam is finally set for release in June. But a petition has now been field against the makers urging the court to stop the release of the film. Govinda Ramanuja Dasar of International Sri Vaishnava Sangam has moved the Chennai high court seeking to stall the release of the film.In his petition, he alleged that Kamal Haasan has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus by his wrong depiction and interpretation.
Dasar alleged that there are many distortions in the film like a big clash between Vaishnavites and Shivaites in the 11th century.Kamal is also shown as insulting Hindus by stepping on 'Omkara' and also riding atop the 'Bhagawad Gita'. The court has issued notices to producer Oscar Ravichandran, director KS Ravi Kumar and the censor board in this regard.
