The overseas rights for Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om have reportedly been sold for a record Rs 75 crore, an all-time high. The bidding for the overseas rights of this SRK starrer has been on since the last two months. Trade papers had estimated that the deal had been clinched for Rs 80 crore, which is an unheard of sum for a Hindi movie.
The buzz, however, is that Kishore Lulla's Eros International has bagged the worldwide rights to SRK's home production for anything between Rs 72-75 crore. According to sources, the deal has already been signed. Another very sought after film is believed to be Aamir Khan's under-production Taare Zameen Pe. But it is possible that PVR, which is a co-producer along with Aamir, may decide to distribute it themselves.
