Saif and Rosa's love story comes to an end with the lady heading back home.
One of Bollywood's most romantic love stories has ended. Saif Ali Khan has split with his girlfriend Rosa. The couple had been living together for the last two years.
Rosa has returned home to Luzern in Switzerland. She left a few days back. Sounding calm, yet troubled, Saif says, "Rosa and I have decided to part ways. Yes, she has gone back home. That's the gist of all I want to say at the moment."
Saif, recuperating at home from a heart scare, now has a broken heart to deal with.
Rosa left a few days back. The course of her future is not clear. According to some of her friends, she's expected back in Mumbai after some time to pursue a career completely independent of her association with Saif. The actor isn't alone at home, though. He has his children for company.
He says, "I'm holding up fine. I want to spend as much time as possible with my children while I'm on this enforced vacation. By doctor's orders, I'm off work for this month. I'll start going to the gym early next month and resume work by the middle of April. I can't pretend that Rosa's going hasn't added to recent setbacks. But it's for the best, I guess."
Rosa spoke to us from her homeland about the parting, saying, "I don't want to talk about the split. Certainly, I am disturbed. Wouldn't anybody be?"
Despite her living in with Saif for the past few years, the chote Nawab's family wasn't ready to give Rosa the status that probably the couple longed for. Saif's mother and Censor Board chief Sharmila Tagore had earlier stated, "She is a nice girl but Saif hasn't spoken to us about marrying her so far. He should be doubly careful about not rushing into anything that he may regret later. He should learn from his past experiences."
Now, Sharmila totally approves of the decision. "I will certainly support my son. But at this point my priority is his health, his children and his career. Other than that, Saif and Rosa know what's best for them," she says.
Meanwhile, the reason for the Saif-Rosa split isn't known, but rumours are that his growing friendship with Amrita could be one. But it could also be that Rosa's increasing ambition resulted in an ego clash between the two.
Whatever was the reason, this ends one more seemingly strong relationship in the entertainment industry. According to close friends, Saif is far more hurt by the split than he's willing to admit. "But things were getting sticky between them. And the split was for the best for both of them," says a close buddy.
