Nikhil Dwivedi, who is all set to debut in E. Niwa's My Name is Anthony Gonsalves, has signed Shivam Nair's next film which will be a remake of the 1985 hit Arjun. The film, which had Sunny Deol in the lead, was directed by Rahul Rawail.
When contacted, Shivam confirmed the news and said, "It is too early to talk about the film. It is still in the scripting stages and nothing has been finalised yet. Nikhil initiated the idea and I liked it. I am co-writing the script and the dialogues are being penned by Anurag Kashyap." He added, "The remake rights are with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, so nothing can be said as of now.
We are revamping the script to suit today's times. Right now I am doing a movie for Ashtavinayak Films with Naseeruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal, Om Puri and Boman Irani. The film is a comic thriller and is based on the famous Gujarati play Maharathi. The film is almost complete." The director will be launching his next venture very soon. "My next film is a romantic comedy with Rahul Bose and Esha Deol We are working on the other members of the cast and crew," he said.
