The biggest loser in the trust vote in Parliament is undoubtedly the TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu. He raised the pitch very high and brought in Mayawathi on to the centre stage. He even projected her as the prime minister in waiting. But Mayawathi could not engineer a split in the Samajwadi party as was widely projected.
The bigger blow to Babu came in the way of defections from his won party. MP Adikesavulu Naidu from Chittoor and Mantha Jagannatham from Nagarkurnool ditched him and sided with the UPA. Chief minster YS Rajashekar Reddy is said to have convinced the two TDP MPS to desert Babu and side with the congress.
the two are now likely to be inducted into the congress. Babu is already battling defections from his party over the separate Telangana issue. The trust vote has further exposed his vulnerability in keeping his flock together. A bitterly dejected Babu is now left licking his wounds in private. While Mandha Jagannatham has been expelled from the party, a show cause notice has been issued to Adikesavulu Naidu.
